Manitowoc, WI October 17, 2005 --
At a time when other manufacturing industries are likely to struggle, the fruit &
vegetable category is one of 13 top industries in Wisconsin that are likely to see growth
over the next five years, according to a recent study cited by the Green Bay Press
Gazzette (October 12, 2005).The fruit & vegetable industry is regarded as a driver
industry, which means that a portion of the products are exported out of the state and/or
exported to other countries. Among driver industries, the fruit & vegetable segment
ranks 8th in Wisconsin, with annual gross product valued at $1.0 billion.
