Since its
acquisition in 1988, the Belgium Plant has become a key bean and root crop production
location for Lakeside.
The Plant has seen significant investment and it has been extensively automated since
1988. Recent productivity and quality improvement projects have included a streamlined
bean snipping and grading system, expanded product inspection and all new brine mixing
equipment. Significant projects have also been completed to provide state of the art water
treatment facilities. Belgium also serves as a major warehouse and distribution location
for our canned products. In 2005, we built an additional warehouse at this location.The Plant takes great pride in its safety record and has won numerous awards over
the years. It was also cited by the Wisconsin Department of Industry, Labor and Human
Relations for its exceptional housing program for non-local employees. |
