Board of Directors announces elections

NEWS RELEASE RE: BOARD OF DIRECTORS - ELECTIONS BY: Tom Reilly, Vice President, Human Resources Manitowoc, WI August 30, 2006 -- Lakeside Foods' Board of Directors has announced the election of Dave Yanda as Executive Vice President, Bob Popple as Vice President of Frozen Food Sales, and Jim Ferguson as Corporate Secretary.
Dave Yanda will have oversight responsibility for Lakeside's Sales, Customer Services, and Quality Assurance functions. In addition, he will have other company-wide responsibilities as assigned by the President. Dave joined Lakeside in 1973 and has held various positions in Operations and Sales, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Frozen Food Sales and Corporate Secretary. He is a member of Lakeside's Board of Directors. Dave is past president of the Wisconsin Canned Vegetable Council and serves on a number of American Frozen Food Institute committees. He has also served on the boards of the United Way, YMCA, and Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Manitowoc. He received a B.S. in Industrial Education from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. Dave and his wife, Sue, live in Manitowoc. They have three adult children and four grandchildren.
Bob Popple will be responsible for developing and administering Lakeside's program of frozen food sales to all markets. He will become a member of the Senior Management team and will participate on the Strategic Planning Committee. He joined Lakeside in 1990 as an Account Executive in Frozen Food Sales. He was promoted to Manager, Frozen Food Sales in 1995 and Director of Retail Frozen Food Sales in 2005, the position he held prior to his current assignment. Bob received a B.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. He is a member of the Manitowoc Youth Hockey Program and has volunteered for various community organizations, including the United Way. Bob, his wife, Lori, and son, Ryan, live in Manitowoc. Their daughter, Allison, attends the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.
Jim Ferguson will assume all admistrative and recordkeeping responsibilities associated with the position of Corporate Secretary. He joined Lakeside in 1988 as Customer Services Manager, was promoted to Director of Customer Services in 1990 and Vice President of Customer Services in 1996, the position he holds in addition to his Corporate Secretary responsibilities. He also is a member of Lakeside's Board of Directors. Jim received a B.S. in Management from Silver Lake College. He is active in a number of industry and community organizations, including the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce Transportation Committee, American Frozen Food Institute's Logistics Committee, Holy Family Memorial's Community Relations Committee, Manitowoc Maritime Museum's Cobia Committee, and Manitowoc Latino Center Steering Committee. He is also past chair of the Manitowoc-Two Rivers United Way Campaign and past board president of Family Services - Lakeshore and Family Services Association. Jim and his wife, Mary, live in Cato, WI. They have two grown children.
