Re: Chiquita Processed Foods 2002
and 2003 Contract Commitments
Seneca Foods Corporation and Lakeside Foods Inc. are well on our way to
incorporating CPF's International Business into our normal business operations. Our goal
is to have all orders flow through the Seneca or Lakeside system by July 1, 2003.
As part of this acquisition, we know there has been some concern regarding
fulfillment of both 2002 and 2003 contracts. Rest assured, we are working jointly to
insure all CPF International contracts are honored.
Seneca Foods has accepted the responsibility of shipping the remaining
balances from CPF's International 2002 contracts. Inventories will be moved into Seneca
facilities prior to the closing on the Lakeside purchased plants, which is targeted for
mid June 2003.
Seneca Foods and Lakeside Foods have also agreed to honor current CPF 2003
International contracts. The detail of this process is not yet finished but both companies
are committed on satisfying the contracts as they were written to CPF.
Seneca Foods and Lakeside Foods' goal is to make this transition as
seamless as possible for all our customers. Please feel free to contact your respective
