Lakeside donates food to Haiti
January 28, 2010
It's hard to fathom the loss Haiti has experienced. We know basic essentials are needed and we will do what we can to help," said Dave Yanda, president and CEO, Lakeside Foods.
Lakeside Foods donated 1904 cases of cut green beans to help the earthquake victims of Haiti last week Friday. The donation was picked up out of Lakeside's warehouse in Belgium, Wisconsin. It took two full truckloads to deliver the food donation to a convoy in Missouri, where it was then shipped to Haiti.
Janice Scott, an employee of Lakeside that helped organize the donation said, "I'm proud to be an employee at Lakeside and to be a part of such a worthy cause." She further noted, "We hope Lakeside's donation will inspire other local companies to do the same and help out where they can."
