Lakeside Foods Fuels the Door County Century

Manitowoc, WI – October 2026

The Door County Century calls itself “The Big Ride,” and it earns the name. Roughly 3,000 cyclists roll out of Sturgeon Bay each September to tackle 30, 50, 70 or 100 miles along the shoreline, limestone bluffs and orchards of the Door Peninsula. Lakeside Foods was proud to officially sponsor it and to be part of the ride the way we know best: with real food.

Real Food for a Long Day in the Saddle

Rest stops along the course are stocked with hydration aids, and plenty to eat. Lakeside Foods added hearty, Wisconsin-style options to the spread, with our sausage sticks and potatoes at select rest stops. Meat and potatoes aren’t what most people picture on a century ride, and that’s part of the appeal. It’s simple, satisfying food that gives riders something to look forward to between miles.

Fuel for Everyday Vitality

Real food powers everyday vitality, whether that means a busy workday, a weekend with the family, or 100 miles on a bike. That idea is at the heart of an event like the Door County Century, making it a natural fit for a Wisconsin food company.

Part of the Ride

Lakeside Foods team members are no strangers to the Door County Century, and the company’s presence was felt all along the route, from the start line in Sturgeon Bay to the last rest stop.

Rooted in Community

The Door County Century is a true grassroots event, founded in 1979 by members of the Bay Shore Bicycle Club in Green Bay. It gives back to the peninsula by supporting local school programs and community groups, and by donating excess rest-stop food to area organizations. Supporting an event like this is part of how Lakeside shows up in the communities we call home.

Here’s to the riders, the volunteers, and everyone who made the 47th Big Ride a great one. See you on the road!
